  1. Matt,

    5. What do you think of the quality of the design and composition? Is there enough contrast between each of the seven images to get a true feeling of chromatic metamorphosis, explain? If not also explain?

I know the quality of this design and composition is great! I love the attention to detail and the use of your vanishing point. It draws my eye to the letter, but why does the letter stay the same? Maybe I like it to stay the same too. If you had change it, it could have not worked well with the composition, so I think it works well.

    Good Luck,

    2. What type of balance is used in the metamorphosis and what is the point of focus? Does either change between the steps or do they remain the same throughout the steps? Be specific in answers.
Balance is used quite effectively in this sequence, and it possibly one of my favorites. In the beginning, the H stands out really well because the color is all pretty much monochromatic, but the shadow behind the letter really makes it stand out. So the balance is mostly towards the right of the image, but as the sequence goes on, the image really starts to balance out as color comes into play as well as the icons from several programs appear too. The end result is a nicely balanced image.

How is perspective used in the overall composition? What type of perspective is used and how does it enhance the composition and/or the transition between steps?

Perspective is really put to great use throughout the entire composition and even through the transitions. Its obvious that the Icons that slowly appear form piece to piece, is a good use of perspective. But In the letter H the computer pieces show depth and great placement so you feel as if oyure really looking into a computer. I really love this piece.

  4. 4. Describe what is potentially happening between the steps. How effective is the continuity between the seven steps, explain? If the continuity is not effective why is it not working?

    Matt,

Between the steps, the detail in the background is slowly becoming more pronounced. The common computer icons are becoming more pronounced, and the color is becoming more vibrant. The fade in is gradual enough that we still feel as if we are seeing the same image, but pronounced enough to make a complete background transformation by the last slide. The changes are evenly distributed between the slides so that the continuity is not disrupted. I would have enjoyed seeing a little more change in the main initial, but overall I like the piece and it’s “techie” vibe!
